A419 Trunk Road - Temporary Restriction of Traffic For Wall Repairs Works
What is happening?

THE A419 TRUNK ROAD (SWINDON) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A419 trunk road in the Borough of Swindon to allow wall repairs and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place overnight (19.00 to 05.00) commencing on or after 8 September 2025 and be completed by 13 September 2025.
The effect of the Order would be to impose a mandatory 50 mph speed limit on the A419 southbound from 680 metres south of the A361 Rat Trap Junction to 800 metres south of the A420 White Hart Roundabout.
The speed limit (which would not apply to emergency service vehicles) would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The Order would come into force on 6 September 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
