What is happening?

THE OLDHAM - DARK LANE/FOOTPATH 209 SADDLEWORTH UPPERMILL
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025
The Oldham Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that part of Dark Lane/Footpath 209 Saddleworth Uppermill between Moorgate Street and Ladcastle Road.
There is no alternative suitable alternative route for pedestrians.
The Order is to be made to allow works on the Transpennine route upgrade and to ensure public safety and will be in force 6 months from 29th August 2025, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
