Norfolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
roads 1-2 shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload and traffic over the roads 1-2 shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (westbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an easterly and westerly direction between 09:00 and 17:00 from 18th to 20th August 2025 (may continue until 1st October 2025). Alternative route via: U331348 Harvey Street, U334506 Dereham Road, A1075 Cadman Way, B1108 High Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WEASENHAM – C525 Low Street from 465m north of its junction with A1065 Fakenham Road for 250m northwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 18th to 22nd August 2025 (may continue until 3rd October 2025). Alternative route is via: C525 Low Street, C333 Rudham Road/ The Street, C761 Raynham Road/Helhoughton Road/South Raynham Road/West Raynham Road, A1065 Swaffham Road/ Fakenham Road and vice versa (Wellingham, Helhoughton, Raynham, Weasenham St. Peter). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WRENINGHAM – B1113 Norwich Road from its junction with C186 Wymondham Road for 5730m southwards to facilitate stud replacement works between 19:00 on 20th August and 06:00 on 21st August 2025 (may continue until 2nd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, The Turnpike, Long Lane, Haugh Road, Mile Road, Heath Road, Long Row, Station Road, Ipswich Road, The Street, Old Street, Mulbarton Road, Main Road (Forncett, Bunwell, Pulham Market, Tibenham, Swainsthorpe, Mulbarton, Carleton Rode, Wreningham, Gissing, Winfarthing, Bracon Ash, Keswick and Intwood, Stoke Holy Cross, Thieveshall, Wacton, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Tasburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Long Stratton, Swardeston, Caistor St Edmund and Bixley, Banham, Tacolneston, Alaston, Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WYMONDHAM – C700 Market Street from its junction with U74847 Queen Street for 130m westwards to facilitate speed table repair works between 09:00 and 17:00 on 17th August 2025 (may continue until 28th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Market Place, Market Street, Middleton Street, Town Green, Cock Street, Melton Road, Tuttles Lane East, Tuttles Lane East, Norwich Road, Browick Road, Avenue Road, Fairland Street. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
YELVERTON – C374 Church Road from its junction with U76369 Ramsgate Street for 30m southwards to facilitate installation works for new fibre network for BDUK from 18th August to 11th September 2025 (may continue until the 13th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Bergh Apton Road, Mill Road, A146 Loddon Road and Slade Lane (Bergh Apton, Thurton, Yelverton, Holverston). The works promoter is CityFibre.

EMNETH – C13 Hungate Road from its junction with U32663 The Lovells for 370m eastwards to facilitate resurfacing works and to accommodate plant & materials from 18th to 22nd August 2025 (may continue until 3rd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Hungate Road, Gaultree Square, Ladys Drove, Jasons Road, Elbow Lane (Walsoken, Emneth, Marshland St. James). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
FOULDEN – Mundford Road from its junction with Bullserre Drive for 30m southwards to facilitate installation works for new duct from 18th to 20th August 2025 (may continue until 1st October 2025). Alternative route is via: Mundford Road, Foulden Road, White Hart Street, Tallon End, Oxborough Road, Road From Foulden To Oxborough, The Green, Swaffham Road, Riverside, Road From Cockley Cley to Hilborough, Cockley Cley Road (Foulden, Oxborough, Cockley Cley, Gooderstone). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
KING’S LYNN – King’s Lynn Footpath 17 from its junction with C39 Clenchwarton Road for 1350m north-eastwards to facilitate footway revamp and renewal works from 18th August to 2nd October 2025 (may continue until 2nd April 2026). Alternative route is via: Kings Lynn Brideway 16, Bankside, St Peters Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
KING’S LYNN – U20441 Waterloo Street from its junction with A148 Railway Road for 120m eastwards to facilitate new gas connection works from 18th to 26th August 2025 (may continue until 7th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Railway Road, Portland Street, Blackfriars Road. The works promoter is Cadent.
WALPOLE – U21084 Chalk Road from 60m north of its junction with U21091 Bustards Lane for 40m northwards to facilitate new water connection works from 21st to 22nd August 2025 (may continue until the 3rd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Chalk Road, Walnut Road, Church Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
WATLINGTON – Thieves Bridge Road from 40m west of its junction with A10 Lynn Road for 40m westwards to facilitate bridge and structure works between 09:30 and 15:30 from 18th to 20th August 2025 (may continue until 1st October 2025). Alternative route is via: Thieves Bridge Road, Lynn Road, Downham Road, Lynn Road, Downham Road (Watlington, Runcton Holme). The works promoter is Openreach.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.
Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
