Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Infrastructure Works
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF QUEENS ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Queens Road, Watford from its junction with Orphanage Road south eastwards to its junction with Sutton Road, a distance of approximately 159m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via St Johns Road, Sotheron Road and Sutton Road.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A411 HEMPSTEAD ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A411 Hempstead Road, Watford from its junction with Wentworth Close south eastwards to its junction with Langley Road, a distance of approximately 341m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A411 Hempstead Road, Courtlands Drive, The Ridgeway, Ridge Lane, Nascot Wood Road and Langley Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CLARENDON ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER No.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Clarendon Road, Watford from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.37 Clarendon Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 10mm (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Clarendon Road, Station Road, A412 St Albans Road, A411 Beechen Grove and Clarendon Road or via Clarendon Road, A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), A412 St Albans Road, Station Road and Clarendon Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COPSEWOOD ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Copsewood Road, Watford from its junction with Leavesden Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Leavesden Road, Stanmore Road and Copsewood Road or via Copsewood Road, Stanmore Road, Leavesden Road, Longspring, A412 St Albans Road and Leavesden Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARTHALL LANE, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER No.5 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harthall Lane, Kings Langley from a point 332m south west of its junction with Bedmond Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Railway Terrace, a distance of approximately 2146m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Harthall Lane, Bedmond Road, Hyde Lane and Railway Terrace.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gallows Hill, Abbots Langley from its junction with Gallows Hill Lane north westwards to its junction with Abbots Road, a distance of approximately 118m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Gallows Hill Lane, High Street, Bedmond Road, High Street, Church Hill, Bedmond Road, Bunkers Lane, Lower Road, Railway Terrace, Primrose Hill, Station Road and Gallows Hill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COMMON ROAD, CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road (“the lengths of Road”):–
1. that length of Common Road, Chorleywood from its southernmost junction with Station Approach north westwards for a distance of approximately 120m.
An alternative route will be via Station Approach, Chorleywood Bottom, Lower Road, Shire Lane, Green Street, A404 (Amersham Road/Chenies Road) and Common Lane.
2. that length of Common Road, Chorleywood to its northernmost junction with Station Approach north eastwards for a distance of approximately 31m.
An alternative route will be via Station Approach, Green Street, A404 (Amersham Road/ Chenies Road) and Common Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telecommunications mast is proposed to be executed near the lengths of Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET AND BELL LANE, BEDMOND) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–
1. that length of High Street, Bedmond from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.23 High Street northwards for a distance of approximately 61m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, Bedmond Road, Tibbs Hill Road, College Road, Horseshoe Lane, A405 North Orbital Road, A41 (North Western Avenue/ Hemel Hempstead Road/ Watford Road), A4251 (Watford Road/High Street/Hempstead Road/ London Road), A414 (Two Waters Way/Two Waters Road/St Albans Road), A4147 (Leverstock Green Way/ Leverstock Green Road), Bedmond Road, Church Hill and High Street.
2. that length of Bell Lane, Bedmond from its junction with High Street eastwards to Church Hill a distance of approximately 11m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties and businesses will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WOODFIELD RISE/CALDECOTE GARDENS, BUSHEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Woodfield Rise/Caldecote Gardens, Bushey from its junction with Little Bushey Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 483m (“the length of Roads”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Little Bushey Lane, A411 Elstree Road and Caldecote Gardens.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Clump, Rickmansworth from a point 120m east of its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via The Clump, A404 Chorleywood Road, Nightingale Road, The Drive, Valley Road and The Clump.
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harrogate Road, Watford from its junction with Trevose Way south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Harrogate Road, Hayling Road, Harewood Road, Gosforth Lane and Harrogate Road.
The Order is needed because gas service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
