What is happening?

(SHEPHERD LANE, BEVERLEY) (30 MPH AND 40 MPH SPEED LIMITS) (REVOCATION) ORDER 2025

1. On 21 August 2025 East Riding of Yorkshire Council made this Order which will be operative from 21 August 2025 the effect of which will be:

a) To revoke the 30 mph speed limit order which relates to Shepherd Lane, Beverley (Woodmansey Parish) which will remain a 30 mph Speed Limit by virtue of the system of street lighting that has been constructed by the developer (the length of road extends from a point 52 metres east of its junction with Lincoln Way to a point 135 metres east of its junction with Lincoln Way, a distance of approximately 83 metres).

b) To revoke the 40 mph Speed Limit on Shepherd Lane, Beverley (Woodmansey Parish) which extends from its junction with Long Lane in a generally westerly direction to a point 135 metres east of its junction with Lincoln Way, an approximate distance of 3285 metres. The road layout has been changed by the developer to a footpath which cannot be accessed by vehicles.

2. A copy of the Order and relevant plan may be examined during normal office hours at Beverley Customer Service Centre, Champney Treasure House, Champney Road, Beverley, HU17 8HE.

3. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained within it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 21 August 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
