Barrow in Furness, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(WINDRUSH CRESCENT, WALNEY, COWS TARN LANE AND LONGWAY BARROW IN FURNESS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of;
(i) Windrush Crescent, Walney, from its junction with Solway Drive, extending in a Southerly direction for a distance of approx. 60m. Alternative Route: via Solway Drive, Frome Road, Tamar Gardens and unrestricted section of the Windrush Crescent. Duration: From 1st September 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15416)
(ii) Cows Tarn Lane, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Solway Drive, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 790m. Alternative Route: via North Shore, Mill Lane, West Shore Road and Solway Drive. Duration: From 15th September 2025 for approx. 17 days (Ref: TTROW/15493)
(iii) Longway, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Salthouse Road, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 250m. Alternative Route: via Salthouse Road, A5087 Roose Road and the unrestricted section of Longway. Duration: From 16th September 2025 for approx. 7 weeks (Ref: TTROW/15567)

The Order will come into operation on 1st September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
