The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
The Isle of Wight Council (Whitehouse Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025
Island Roads on behalf of Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Tuesday 19 August 2025, and Thursday 21 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Whitehouse Road, Newport, from its junctions with Bunts Hill and its junction with Youngwoods Farm – Access Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Ironwork repair.
Isle of Wight Council (Newport Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Tuesday 19 August 2025 until 0600 hours on Wednesday 20 August 2025, or when the works has been completed, Newport Road will be closed between its junction with Church Lane and Siemens access road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.
Isle of Wight Council (Forest Road, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 18 August 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 24 October 2025, or when the works has been completed, Forest Road will be closed between its junction with Mill Lane and Forest Dell. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.
Isle of Wight Council (Copse Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 18 August 2025 until 1800 hours on Monday 27 October 2025, or when the works has been completed, Copse Lane will be closed between its junction with Norton Green and Redlake Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works
Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Arreton & Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1000 hours on Saturday 16 August 2025 and 1800 hours on Sunday 17 August 2025, or when the event has finished, a one-way restriction will be introduced as follows (a) Hale Common, Arreton, in north-westerly direction, between its junctions with Winford Road, Newchurch and Watery Lane, Newchurch; b) Watery Lane, Newchurch, in an easterly direction, for its entire length; c) Winford Road, Newchurch, in a southerly direction, between its junctions with Watery Lane and Hale Common. An alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety during the Garlic Festival event.
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 15 August 2025 and Friday 22 September 2025 the following roads will be closed all at times for a period of approximately one to 15 days within this timeframe. Exact dates of the works will be confirmed to local residents and businesses by letter and advanced warning signs and affected roads will be signed on site. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by signs. The works are to include carriageway and footway reconstructions, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. The Isle of Wight Council (Weston Lane, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2025 – Weston Lane will be closed for its entire length.
The Isle of Wight Council (Barfield, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Barfield, Ryde will be closed for its entire length.
Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847:-
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Roads, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2025 –
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0600 hours on Wednesday 20 August 2025 until 0600 hours on Thursday 21 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is sooner, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along: 1) Esplanade for its entire length; 2) High Street between its junctions with West Street and Esplanade and Circular Road. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Seaview Regatta Event. Alternative route will be signposted locally.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1500 hours and 1800 hours on Saturday 16 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner. A) no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along 1) Tennyson Road between its junctions with River Road and Tennyson Close; 2) St James Street for its entire length; 3) Bridge Road between its junctions with St James Street and The Quay; 4) The Quay for its entire length; 5) Quay Street for its entire length; 6) Market Square for its entire length; 7) High Street between its junctions with Market Square and Basketts Lane; 8) Basketts Lane for its entire length; 9) Victoria Road for its entire length; 10) Station Road for its entire length; 11) Mill Road for its entire length. B) no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to wait along 1) Bridge Road between its junctions with St James Street and The Quay; 2) Victoria Road for its entire length; 3) Station Road for its entire length. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Yarmouth Carnival Event. Alternative routes will be signposted.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 3 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on Saturday 16 August 2025, between 1930 hours and 2359 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed or wait along 1) Dudley Road for its entire length; 2) Pier Street between its junctions with Albert Street and High Street; 3) High Street between its junctions with Pier Street and Victoria Street; 4) Victoria Street between its junctions with High Street and Albert Street; 5) Albert Street for its entire length; 6) Church Street for its entire length; 7) Belgrave Road for its entire length; 8) Park Avenue for its entire length. The closure is required for safety during the Ventnor Illuminated Carnival. The alternative route will be signposted locally.
