Near Brampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Ford Collapse and Repair Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1048 WEST HALL, NEAR BRAMPTON)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of a ford collapse and to enable subsequent repair works to be carried out (“the Works”) Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U1048, West Hall, Near Brampton from a point approx. 20m south of its junction with B6318, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 50 metres
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U1048, U1050, C1025 and B6318.
This follows emergency notices dated 9 July 2025 and 30 July 2025.

The Order will come into operation on 20 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
