Ulverston, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (FOX STREET AND MOORGARTH, SWARTHMOOR AND CHAPEL STREET, ULVERSTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

(i) Fox Street, Swarthmoor, from its junction with the A590 Ulverston Road, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 140m; and

(ii) Moorgarth, Swarthmoor, from its junction with Fox Street, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 100m.

Alternative Route: via the A590 Ulverston Road, Main Road, Park Road and the unrestricted section of Fox Street.

Duration: From 1st September 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15442)

(iii) Chapel Street, Ulverston, from its junction with Cox Street, extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approx. 20m.

Alternative Route: via Lightburn Road, Brogden Street, Hartley Street the unrestricted section of Chapel Street.

Duration: From 3rd September 2025 for approx. 6 days (Ref: TTROW/15444)

The Order will come into operation on 1st September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
