Dragon Street Area, Petersfield - Restriction of waiting extension of area

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 19th August 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 122(1) and 122(2)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act. General nature and effectS of the Order: Will be to extend the existing Restriction of Waiting on Causeway (B2070) by 15 metres (currently 45 metres) to a total of 60 metres to accommodate a new Pedestrian Crossing being implemented on Causeway as outlined in the following schedule: Roads at Petersfield in the District of East Hampshire No Waiting Monday to Saturday between 8am to 6pm Road Side Description Causeway (B2070) Both Between its junction with Sussex Road and a point 60 metres south thereof. This order will revoke and re-enact the provision of “The Hampshire (Dragon Street Area, Petersfield) (Restriction of Waiting) Order 1995”save for that change mentioned above.
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 30th August 2025.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Friday 10th October 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
