Commerce Street - Temporary Road Closure For Works Relating To Section 278
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE COMMERCE STREET, MELBOURNE
WHEN: 01 September to 08 September 2025
WHERE: Commerce Street, Melbourne between its Jct. with B587 Cockshut Lane and its Jct. with Union Street.
REASON: To facilitate works relating to Section 278.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: B587 Cockshut Lane, Derby Road, Victoria Street, George Street, Commerce Street and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
