What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U2022 NEWHAM BUILDINGS TO NEWHAM CHATHILL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of U2022 Newham Buildings to Newham Chathill from 4 metres north eastwards of Ellingham Berwick Borough Footpath 017 heading north eastwards for a distance of 45 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 12th September 2025 until the 21st September 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed on the following dates:
12th September 2025 until the 15th September 2025
between 22:00 hours and 07:00 hours.
20th September 2025 until the 21st September 2025
between 23:00 hours and 10:00 hours during this period,
the Order however will remain in place until 21st September 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U2022, U2025,C66, C68, C69, C70, U2030, U2028, U2029, U2027 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Chevron Traffic Management to replace and move decking. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
