What is happening?

CITY OF DONCASTER COUNCIL

intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to
make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary
Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to
be executed on or near the road and the effect will be to prohibit
any vehicle/pedestrian from proceeding in that section of road
that comprises of the railway level crossing area on Joan Croft
Lane/Middle Lane at Holme in the City of Doncaster District as
described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates and times
referred to in the said Schedule
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce whilst rail works on the level crossing for crossing
upgrade project are undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles/
pedestrians affected by the Order is via Middle Lane, Rockley
Lane, Doncaster Road, High Street, Station Road, Moss Road,
Trumfleet Lane, Moss Lane, Marsh Road, Thorpe Lane, Bell Croft
Lane, Joan Croft Lane and vice versa.

proposed to carry out in or near the said road have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.)

ORDER 2025

On 20th August 2025, City of Doncaster Council confirmed the
above order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish the public
footpath running from Maple Grove at grid reference SE 6278
0512 east-south-easterly for some 30 metres to 11 Maple Grove
at grid reference SE 6281 0511, as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been
placed and may be seen free of charge at City of Doncaster
Council, Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU, from 9.00
a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the order and

aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of

the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the

relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of
Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6
to the Act, within six weeks from 21st August 2025, make an

VARIATION ORDER 2025
On the 20th day of August 2025 City of Doncaster Council
confirmed the above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to vary the Doncaster
Borough Council Public Footpath No 6 Adwick le Street (Part)
Order 2020, so as to (1) stop up the public footpath running from
grid reference SE 5270 0781 west-north-westerly for some 186
metres to grid reference SE 5252 0786; (2) stop up the
unrecorded path running from grid reference SE 5263 0783
westerly for some 113 metres to grid reference SE 5252 0785,
as shown on the order map.
A copy of the 2020 order and the 2025 confirmed variation order
and map may be seen free of charge at City of Doncaster

DESCRIPTION OF LAND
A bridleway with a width of 3.5 metres commencing from
Harlington Road at grid reference SE 4891 0263 (point A on the
order map) and proceeding south for 530 metres to grid
reference SE 4896 0210 (point B on the order plan) where there
is a reduction in width to 1.5 metres for a distance of 10 metres,
then continuing south east for 515 metres to the parish boundary
at grid reference SE 4934 0182 (point C on the order plan).
A bridleway with a width of 3.5 metres commencing at the parish

boundary at grid reference SE 4934 0182 (point C on the order
plan) and proceeding east for 25 metres to grid reference SE
4937 0183 (point D on the order plan) where there is a reduction
in width to 1.3 metres for a distance of 10 metres. Continuing
east through Barnburgh Grange for a distance of 510 metres to
grid reference SE 4984 0176 (point E on the order plan) where
there is a reduction in width to 1.4 meters for a distance of 20
metres, then continuing east for a distance of 50 metres to
Melton Mill Lane at grid reference SE4990 0177 (point F on the
order plan).
