What is happening?

Three Gates Lane (D5528) Haslemere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025|
On 15 August 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Three Gates Lane (D5528) Haslemere as extends between the boundaries of the property known as “Tynings”.
Alternative Route – Three Gates Lane, A286 (Greyswood Road) and Highercombe Road, or this route in reverse.This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate the installation of a boundary box and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 September 2025 for 3 days, between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to properties within the closure as well as for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Burnt Hill Road (D5300) Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 August 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the Burnt Hill Road (D5300) Farnham as extends from its junction with (X84052) Upper Bourne Lane to its junction with (X84079) Twyford Lane. Alternative Route: Burnt Hill Road, (B3384) Shortheath Road, (B3384) Ridgway Road, (A287) Frensham Road, and Burnt Hill Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate tree felling, silt clearance, vegetation clearance, and repairs to the bridge, and/or other associated works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 28 days, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
Grange Road (D111) Tilford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 August 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Grange Road (D111) Tilford as extends from its junction with (X84010) Winchester Road to its junction with (D108) Tilford Common Road. Alternative Route: Grange Road, Priory Lane, (A287) Frensham Road, (A287) Farnham Road, Jumps Road, Tilford Road, and Grange Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Green Cross Lane (D129) Churt
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 August 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Green Cross Lane (D129) Churt. Alternative Route: Hale House Lane, (A287) Crossways, (A287) Churt Road, and Green Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new connection works for, or on behalf of SSEN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
D113 Fifield Lane and D114 Kennel Lane, Frensham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works and/or major maintenance, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – D114 Kennel Lane, A287 Frensham Road, C26 Shortfield Common Road, D115 West End Lane and D114 Hamlash Lane.

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in that length of B2131 Petworth Road, Haslemere which extends from Rodgate Lane to its junction with A286 High Street (Haslemere). This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching and/or surface dressing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in that length of A287 Churt Road, Hindhead which extends from its junction with Corry Road to its junction with Kitts Lane. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching and/or surface dressing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Public Footpath 125b (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 125b (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due to fragile and damaged masonry on the West Bell Tower of St Andrew’s Church, and associated repair works taking place on or near the footpath.The Order came into operation on 20 February 2023 and was due to expire on 20 August 2023. It was then extended by the Secretary of State for Transport until 20 August 2024, then for the second time until 20 August 2025, and has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for the third time until 20 February 2026, or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 125b (Farnham) at St Andrew’s Churchyard between Church Passage/Public Footpath 125 (Grid Ref: 483821, 146706), and a point approximately 30 metres to the west of the junction with Public Footpath 125c.The alternative route for traffic will be via Public Footpath 125a, Public Footpath 125c and Public Footpath 125.The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
