CROYDON COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
BRAMERTON AVENUE, BRIDPORT ROAD, ST. STEPHEN’S CRESCENT, WARWICK ROAD & WILSHIRE ROAD, THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to enable gas main replacement works, they intend to make a Traffic Order that would be to temporarily restrict traffic on the above roads.
Whilst the said works are taking place, the roads/sections of roads listed below will be closed to all vehicles and on-way working in Bramerton Avenue will be suspended.

Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
Bridport Road: Via Brigstock Road, Strathyre Avenue, Winterbourne Road, and vice versa.
Bramerton Avenue Northbound: Via Bridport Road, Strathyre Avenue, and Norbury Road.
Bramerton Avenue Southbound: Via Bridport Road, Richmond Road, Grange Road, South Croydon Road, and Norbury Road.
Warwick Road/St Stephen’s Crescent Northbound: Via London Road, Kynaston Road, and Brigstock Road.
Warwick Road/St Stephen’s Crescent Southbound: Via London Road, Westbourne Road, and Whitehorse Road.
Wilshire Road Westbound: Via Warwick Road, London Road, and Winterbourne Road.
Wilshire Road Eastbound: Via Warwick Road, Bridport Road, and Winterbourne Road.
The Order will come into operation on 28 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on approximately 23 October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.
(c) anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.
(d) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

INTRODUCTION OF ONE-WAY WORKING,
LANDSDOWNE ROAD, CROYDON
THE CROYDON (LANDSDOWNE ROAD) (NO.1) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 11 August 2025 made the above Traffic Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
The general effect of the Order will be:
(a) To make Landsdowne Road one-way eastbound between its junctions with Wellesley Road and Walpole Road.
(b) Vehicles must not enter Landsdowne Road at its junction with Walpole Road except for access to the side channels, due to the above Order or as actually prevented on the street.
Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 14 August 2025, and all associated documents can be inspected during normal office hours Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date the Order was made, by appointment only at the Croydon Council, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternative arrangements for inspection can be made.
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 14 August 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
