What is happening?
(Various Roads, Kelvedon Hatch And Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood) (Speed Limits) Order 2025.
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
1. To Extend: a ‘30mph Speed Limit’ (Currently a 40mph Speed Limit) on the following length of road, in Kelvedon Hatch, in the Borough of Brentwood.
Road Description
Blackmore Road From a point approximately 45 metres southwest of its junction with Fox Hatch, southwest for approximately 7.25 metres.
The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Kelvedon Hatch) (Restricted Roads) Order 2007 is hereby revoked. However, any roads not mentioned above shall continue in force by virtue of this new order.
The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Pilgrims Hatch and Kelvedon Hatch) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2008 is hereby revoked.
However, any roads not mentioned above shall continue in force by virtue of this new order.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 28 August 2025.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
