Croydon, Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works

What is happening?

Official Notice

  1. Whilst the said works are taking place Coldharbour Road will be closed at its junction with Denning Avenue.

  2. During the closure, vehicular traffic will be diverted as detailed below.

  • Via Denning Avenue, Crowley Crescent, Coldharbour Way and Coldharbour Road.

  • Via Coldharbour Road, A23, and Denning Avenue.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 20 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

The restriction will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate cabling work on behalf of UKPN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking on the roads.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the roads/sections of roads below will be closed and/or subject to parking suspension/no waiting and loading restrictions at any time, as detailed.

  1. Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below. Access will be maintained where possible.

  • Elm Park Road (Northbound) ? Via South Norwood Hill, Whitehorse Lane, Nugent Road (Southbound) Union Road, Oliver Grove, Selhurst Road, and South Norwood Hill.

  • Oliver Avenue (Northbound) ? via Whitworth Road, Whitworth Close, South Norwood Hill, Selhurst Road, Oliver Grove, and Oliver Avenue.

  • Sanglety Road (Northbound) ? via Whitworth Road, Whitworth Close, Park Road (Southbound) Whitworth Road, Selhurst Road, Park Road (Westbound) Park Road, Whitehorse Road, Clifton Road, and Selhurst Road.

  • Holmesdale Road (Northbound) ? via Whitworth Road, Sanglety Road, Park Road (Southbound) Park Road, Selhurst Road, and Whitworth Road.

  • Bungalow Road ? via Park Road, Whitehorse Lane, Clifton Road (Southbound) Park Road, Selhurst Lane, and Clifton Road.

  • Newhaven Road ? via Dagnall Park, Hurstbourne Road, Alexandra Place, and Holmesdale Road.

  • Dagnall Park (Northbound) ? via Prince Road, Dagmar Road, Farnley Road, Whitehorse Lane, Saxon Road, Eileen Road, Selhirst Road (Southbound) Edith Road, and Selhurst Road.

  • St Saviour’s Road (Northbound) ? Queens Road, Bensham Lane, Lodge Road (Southbound) Queens Road, Windmill Road, and St Saviour’s Road.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 14 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in stages, finishing on 17 January 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

OSBORNE ROAD, THORNTON HEATH

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate remedial carriageway works on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic to Osborne Road, Thornton Heath.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Osborne Road will be closed between its junctions with Colliers Water Lane and Brook Road.

  3. During the closure, the alternative route for traffic will be via Gondon Road, Northwood Road, Penton Road, Burlington Road and reverse.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 20 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

PARK LANE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water valve repair works, they have made an Order the effect of which would be temporarily restrict traffic on Park Lane.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Park Lane will be closed southbound between the roundabout at the junction of Barclay Road, Croydon Flyover and Park Lane, and the common boundary of Nos. 77 and 79 Park Lane.

  3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via the Croydon Flyover, Pump Pail South, Lower Coombe Street, Coombe Road, Chatsworth Road, and vice versa.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 18 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
