What is happening?

PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 - SECTION 257
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANCHESTER CITY OF MANCHESTER (PALGRAVE AVENUE AREA, HARPHURHEY) (PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP) ORDER 202

The above Order was made on 19th August 2025. The effect of the Order will be to stop up the public footpaths stated in the Schedule to this notice. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Ex-tension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive. Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested via the email or postal addresses below. Any representation regarding or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor PO BOX 532, Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA or phlegal@manchester.gov.uk not later than 23rd Sep-tember 2025 quoting reference L/GS/HIG003/84073. 
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council of the City of Manchester may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objec-tions which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

Schedule

1.A footpath that commences at the back of footway of Queens Road at a point 63m northeast of its junction with Carslake Road that runs in a northeasterly direction for 3m, then in a southeasterly direction for 41m to the back of footway of Palgrave Av-enue is to be stopped over its full width (shown between ‘A’ & ‘B’ on the plan).

2.A footpath that commences from a point 5m northwest on a footpath at Queens Road and lies opposite the junction with Carslake Road and runs in a northeasterly direction towards Palgrave Avenue for 26m is to be stopped over its full width (shown between ‘C’ & ‘D’ on the plan).
