Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 13 August 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of the carriageway in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway reconstruction, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary waiting restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions are provided to permit vehicles to wait in order to pick up and set down passengers, to load and unload goods, to carry out essential services and works or when used by local authorities in pursuance of statutory powers or duties and for furniture removals.
(N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
The usual exemptions apply for Post Office vehicles when delivering or collecting postal packets, vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer.

C197 Church Road, Epsom
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C197 Church Road, Epsom that extends from its junction with D2451 Wimborne Close, southward for 30m. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out excavations for a new telegraph pole and/or telegraph pole replacement and/or to carry out overhead cabling and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 September 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. No sole access will be affected however access for emergency services, residents, businesses and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Church Road, Pitt Road, B284 Church Street and Grove Road.
D2202 Woodcote Green Road, Epsom
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2202 Woodcote Green Road, Epsom which extends from its junction with Woodcote Hurst to its junction with Chalk Lane and any parts thereof.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works and/or major maintenance, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 September 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Alternative Route – D2202 Woodcote Road, A24 Dorking Road, D2268 Woodcote Side and D2202 Woodcote Road.
