What is happening?

(Back Lane, Sheering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Back Lane, Sheering in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Lower Road to its junction with Sheering Lower Road for a distance of approximately 80m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th September 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC41100SW3WR2VD – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Back Lane, Sheering Lower Road, Sheering Road, Harlow Road, The Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Mott Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU039CMW-NE-0644939 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water installation works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Mott Street, Avery Lane, Pynest Green Lane, Sewardstone Road (with access only into Church Road and Lipitts Hill) and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Partridge Road, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Partridge Road, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from its junction with Southern Way to its junction with Abercrombie Way for a distance of approximately 230m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201T42837557 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vehicle restraint works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Southern Way, Abercrombie Way, Tendring Road, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Townmead Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Townmead Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 20m north of its junction with Orchard Gardens for a distance of approximately 40m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU0911LS000814075106-0045 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Orchard Gardens, Sewardstone Street, Fountain Place and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Workers Road, High Laver) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Workers Road, High Laver in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 105m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC41100WG6R8H9Y – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Workers Road, Faggoters Lane, Threshers Bush Road, Hobbs Cross Road, Matching Green Road, Harlow Road, Moor Hall Road, Matching Road, Matching Green Road, Harlow Road, Matching Tie Road, High Laver Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Birds Green, Willingale) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birds Green, Willingale in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with School Lane for a distance of approximately 120m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30093437160 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Dunmow Road, Berwick Lane, Stortford Road, Beauchamp Roding Old Bridge Close, Chelmsford Road, Ongar Road, Marks Hall Lane, Waples Mill Farm Road, Waples Mill Road, Birds Green and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(High Road, North Weald Bassett) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the said length of road. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order will continue in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 7th August 2025 (exact dates will be specified on one.network). The works are required to facilitate each phase of the development works while public access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes shall be in both location and restriction will be signed on site. The road may be accessed via letter/email and advanced warning signs on site.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Latton Green, Commonside Road and vice versa.

(Park Lane, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from a point approximately 20m south of its junction with Whitehall Orchard for a distance of approximately 95m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (A25011403144611 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via School Lane, First Avenue, Park Lane and vice versa.

(Workers Road, High Laver) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Workers Road, High Laver in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Faggoters Lane for a distance of approximately 185m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04102555898C – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection and boundary box repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via High Laver Road, Matching Road, Harlow Road, Moor Hall Road, Matching Road, Moor Hall Road, Threshers Bush Road, Churchgate Street, Hobbs Cross Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
