THE A4078 (TALGARTH, POWYS) (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT FOR EXEMPTED VEHICLES) (NO. 3) ORDER 2025
THE WELSH MINISTERS, acting on behalf of Powys County Council pursuant to arrangements made between Powys County Council and the Welsh Ministers under section 83(1) of the Government of Wales Act 2006, have made an Order, in exercise of their powers under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and section 83 of the Government of Wales Act 2006, which is necessary to hold the “Junior Race of South Wales” cycling event at and near Talgarth, Powys.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily allow motor vehicles being used by authorised event officials to be driven at a speed not exceeding 30 mph on the length of road that extends from a point 15 metres north-east of its junction with the A479 Bronllys Road to a point 50 metres north-east of its junction with Hay Road, Talgarth. This will enable them to get a short distance ahead of the race to carry out their duties of ensuring the
road is clear and holding traffic, where appropriate. It will implement a “safety bubble” that should ensure that the race is delivered safely for riders and the public.
The Order comes into force on 23 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of 1 day.
The restriction is only expected to operate from 13:00 hours to 16:00 hours.
