Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works.

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Church Road & Church Green, Wickham Bishops)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Church Close to its junction with Wellands a distance of approximately 310m.

2. To temporarily close that length of Church Green, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from both its junctions with Church Road to its end a distance of approximately 185m.

3. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closures only.

“The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closures/restrictions are scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP021EH2389060 & EP201EH2389061 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage improvements works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Blacksmiths Lane, Maypole Road, Langford Road, Maldon Road, Witham Road, Langford Road, Station Road, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Fitch’s Crescent, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fitch’s Crescent, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 265m south west then south east then south west of its junction with Park Drive for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M135874 – Essex And Suffolk Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while temporary to permanent reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Fish Street, Goldhanger)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Fish Street, Goldhanger in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Head Street to its end a distance of approximately 320m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

(The Hythe, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Hythe, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 60m south east of its junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30088120898 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while disconnection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Kelvedon Road, Tolleshunt D’arcy)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Kelvedon Road, Tolleshunt D’arcy in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 370m north west of its junction with North Street for a distance of approximately 1400m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 2 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387331 — Essex County Council).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via B1023, B1026, Beckingham Road, Tolleshunt D’arcy, Beckingham Street, School Road, The Street, Loamy Hill Road, B1022, Station Road, B1023 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

(Streetworks No.1) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Maldon as detailed in the Schedule.

The works are scheduled to commence after 7th August 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce micro ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
