(20mph Speed Zone) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order:
To implement a "20mph Zone" – Elsenham, District of Uttlesford
Road | Description |
Cheltenham Close | From its junction with Golden Miller Avenue, for its entire length, including any turning heads. |
Gold Cup Way | From its junction with Golden Miller Avenue, for its entire length, including any turning heads. |
Golden Miller Avenue | From its junction with Hall Road, for its entire length, including any turning heads. |
National Drive | From its junction with Golden Miller Avenue, for its entire length, including any turning heads. |

This 20mph Zone was originally advertised under the title "The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Elsenham) (Speed Zones and Limits) Order 2022"Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 18 August 2025

(Royston Road, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Royston Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Audley End Station for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410282422 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for the same reason stated above. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carrying out boundary box replacement works by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via B1039, B1386, A505, A10, B1368, B1039 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
