What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(MACCLESFIELD ROAD, HAZEL GROVE) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CYCLE LANE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of the Cycle Lane at Macclesfield Road, Hazel Grove, west cycle lane from the junction of Dean Lane to Norbury Hall, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for works to excavate a joint bay and to ensure continued electricity distribution to the relevant properties. It is estimated these works will last 12 days. No diversion will be provided. This Order is to come into operation on 29 August 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
