Crick Road, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire - Temporary restrictions due to utility works

What is happening?

HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN bod CYNGOR SIR FYNWY, Neuadd y Sir, y Rhadyr, Brynbuga, NP15 1GA ("y Cyngor") yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn yn unol â'r pwerau a roddwyd gan Adran 14(1)(a) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984:  

Daeth y Gorchymyn i rym ar 22ain Awst 2025 a bydd yn parhau i fod mewn grym am gyfnod nad yw'n hwy na 18 mis neu nes bod y gwaith y cynigir ei wneud wedi'i gwblhau, pa un bynnag yw'r cynharaf. Rhagwelwyd  bod y gwaith yn cael ei gwblhau ar 22ain Awst 2025, gan weithio rhwng 08:00 – 17:00.  

Roedd angen y Gorchymyn  gan y bydd y briffordd yn cael ei lleihau i un lôn gyda goleuadau traffig dros dro yn cael eu defnyddio i ganiatáu i waith MJ Quinn ddigwydd yn ddiogel yn y lleoliad.  

Effaith y Gorchymyn oedd cau dros dro rhan o Heol Crug, Drenewydd Gelli-farch, Sir Fynwy.   Gostyngiad yn y terfyn cyflymder o 60mya i 40mya. Gostyngiad yn y terfyn cyflymder yn dechrau ~75m o'r gyffordd â Heol Runston ~1.20km i gyfeiriad gogledd-orllewinol.  

Gostyngiad yn y terfyn cyflymder o 40mya i 10mya. Gostyngiad yn y terfyn cyflymder yn dechrau ~0.65km o'r gyffordd â Heol Runston ~150m i gyfeiriad gogleddol.  

Gellir enwi'r Gorchymyn hwn fel Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig Dros Dro Heol Crug, Drenewydd Gelli-farch, Sir Fynwy 2025.   Yn sgil Adran 16(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffordd 1984 bydd person sy'n torri cyfyngiad neu waharddiad a osodir dan Adran 14 y Ddeddf yn euog o drosedd.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Has made an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984  

The Order came into operation on the 22nd August 2025 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed on 22nd August 2025, operating between 08:00 – 17:00.  

The order was necessary as the highway will be reduced to a single lane with the use controlled temporary traffic signals to allow for MJ Quinn works to take place safely at the location.  

The effect of the order was to temporarily reduce the speed limit on a section of the Crick Road, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire.  

A reduction of the speed limit from 60mph to 40mph. Speed limit reduction starting ~75m from its junction with Runston Road ~1.20km in a north-westerly direction.  

A reduction of the speed limit from 40mph to 10mph. Speed limit reduction starting ~0.65km from its junction with Runston Road ~150m in a northerly direction.  

This order may be cited as the Crick Road, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire, Speed Limit Reduction Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2025  

By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
