(Archer Field Footbridge, Basildon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Archer Field footbridge over East Mayne, in the Borough of Basildon.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 11 August 2025 to 15 September 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge refurbishment works are undertaken.
Alternative route: A temporary crossing will be provided north of the footbridge on East Mayne.
The Order will come into effect on 11 August 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Castle Point District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and
(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.16) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 32(1), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order:
1. To Revoke – “Limited Waiting, 8am–6pm, 2hrs No Return Within 3hrs” Parking Bay Restrictions on the following road:
ROAD: Canvey Road
DESCRIPTION:
West Side: From a point approximately 35 metres from its junction with Northwick Road, north for approximately 17.5 metres.
East Side: From a point approximately 3.5 metres from its junction with Northwick Road, north for approximately 6.5 metres.
2. To Implement – “No Waiting At Any Time” Restrictions on the following road:
ROAD: Canvey Road
DESCRIPTION:
West Side: From a point approximately 35 metres from its junction with Northwick Road, north for approximately 17.5 metres.
East Side: Approximately 3 metres from its junction with Northwick Road North for approximately 4 metres north then approximately 6.5 metres.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Castle Point District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tile: TQ770 835 Revision 1 to replace Revision 2.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 25 August 2025.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Fortune of War Footbridge, Basildon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Fortune of War, Footbridge over A127 Southend Arterial Road, in the Borough of Basildon.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25 August 2025 to 03 October 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge refurbishment works are undertaken.
Alternative route: Willowfield, High Road North and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 25 August 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cross Avenue, Wickford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cross Avenue, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Grange Avenue, north for approximately 55m in a northerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30068306216 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate warning signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to enable replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Grange Avenue, Newhouse Road, Elder Avenue and vice versa (with access only into Cross Avenue).
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(New Century Road, Laindon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of New Century Road, Laindon in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 55m west of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2025 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30064881159 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
Alternative routes are available via:
1. Cumberland Drive, Durham Road, High Road.
2. Railway Approach, Worthing Road, High Road.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Outwood Farm Road, Billericay)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Outwood Farm Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Coxes Farm Road for a distance of approximately 245m in a north easterly than north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD044EW-11459-01 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Outwood Common Road and vice versa (with access only into Outwood Farm Road).
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Somnes Avenue & Meppel Avenue, Canvey Island)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Somnes Avenue, Canvey Island, in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 345m south of its junction with Somnes Avenue Roundabout for a distance of approximately 145m in a south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Meppel Avenue, Canvey Island, in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Somnes Avenue for a distance of approximately 45m in a generally north then northerly direction.
3. To temporarily introduce a “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping” in the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures.
The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closures/clearways are scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 19 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2389778 & EP201EH2389778A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures/clearways are required for the safety of the public and workforce while junction improvements works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via B1014, A130, B1014 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(St Mary’s Drive, South Benfleet)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Mary’s Drive, South Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with the High Road to its junction with Adelaide Gardens a distance of 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30046453553 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while service upgrade works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via B1006, B1014, Norwood Drive, St Mary’s Drive and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from the junction of Hullbridge Road for a distance of approximately 690m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEAA0130655SB & BC008OGEAA0130655SBA – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Watery Lane, Beeches Road, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth Lane, Hullbridge Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Roselink Road to its junction with Long Road a distance of approximately 75m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP10000015460 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing and white line crossing point and local adjustments works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via A130, B1014 and vice versa (following the one way at Elder Tree Road).
The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hillhouse Drive, Billericay)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hillhouse Drive, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Perry Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001408541 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Hillhouse Drive, B1007, Newlands Road, Perry Street and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Oakhurst Drive, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Nevendon Road to its junction with Karen Close a distance of approximately 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001363988 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Watery Lane, Rayleigh/Rawreth & Beeches Road, Rawreth in the District of Rochford, from the junction of Hullbridge Road to the junction of Chelmsford Road a distance of approximately 2750m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20178868614 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while parapet repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Hullbridge Road, Rawreth Lane, Chelmsford Road and vice versa.
