Bridleway 69 And Footpath 70, Cheadle And Gatley - Temporary Closure For Works
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(BRIDLEWAY 69 AND FOOTPATH 70, CHEADLE AND GATLEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of the footbridge on Bridleway 69, Cheadle and Gatley, and part of Bridleway 69 CG and Footpath 70 CG rear to 7 to 31 Swann Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath and bridleway. This Order is necessary to allow for works regarding the installation of handrails to take place. It is estimated these works will last 4 days. This Order does not apply to pedestrians. A diversion will be provided via; Mellor Road, Station Road, Butterfield Close and vice versa. This Order came into operation on 15 August 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
