Steps From Sides Of 13 & 17 Little Underbank - Temporary Closure For Works To Improve And Maintain Street Lighting
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(STEPS FROM SIDES OF 13 & 17 LITTLE UNDERBANK, STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of the steps from the side of 13 Little Underbank to Marketplace, Stockport for the full length, and the steps from the side of 17 Little Underbank to St Petersgate, Stockport for the full length, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said steps. This Order is necessary to allow for works to improve and maintain street lighting. It is estimated these works will last 1 week.
A diversion will be provided via Little Underbank, steps from the side of 12 Little Underbank to St Petersgate, St Petersgate, and vice versa. This Order is to come into operation on 15 September 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
