What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(KINGS ROAD, BREDBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Kings Road, Bredbury from the junction of Berrycroft Lane to Ruskin Grove, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for gas mains replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 11 days. A diversion will be provided via Berrycroft Lane, George Lane, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on the 6 October 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
