Roach Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(ROACH ROAD, SAMLESBURY, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Roach Road, Samlesbury from a point 165 metres from Mill Court in a southerly direction to Fleetwood Hall.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 09:30 hours until 15:30 hours on Wednesday 3rd September 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic under 4.5 metres in height
Roach Road – Gib Lane – A675 Hoghton Lane – A675 The Straits – A675 Hoghton Lane – A675 Blackburn Road – A675 Higher Walton Road – B6230 Church Brow – B6230 Cuerdale Lane and vice versa.
6. An alternative route for vehicular traffic over 4.5 metres in height
Roach Road – Gib Lane – Goosefoot Lane – Further Lane – A677 Preston New Road – A677 – Billinge Avenue – B6447 Buncer Lane – A674 Preston Old Road – A674 Moulden Brow – A674 Riley Green Switch Road – A670 Hoghton Lane – and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow pole, and open wire works to be carried out.
