What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 LONG LANE
AND LOFTHOUSE LANE, LOW CATTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along Long Lane, Low Catton
between the junctions of Smeaton Road and York Road
commencing 1 September 2025. The reason for
the closure is to enable the proposed carriageway
maintenance works, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed by 2 October 2025. The alternative route
for traffic affected by the Order is via Main Street, High
Catton, High Catton Road, Church Road and Moor
Road, Stamford Bridge, Newbridge Lane, High Catton,
Ling Lane, Storking Lane, Main Street and York Road,
Wilberfoss and vice versa. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but remain open at all times to
pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties
directly affected by the closure and for emergency
services. The Order will commence 1 September
2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
