What is happening?

(CANNOCK ROAD PHASE 2)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Cannock Road in both directions from its junction with Springfield Road to its junction with Nine Elms Lane.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 29 August 2025 until 4 September 2025, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00.
The diversion route is: Stafford Street, Stafford Road, M54 and Cannock Road or Stafford Street, Ring Road, Wednesfield Road, Wolverhampton Road, Wednesfield Way, Lakefield Road, Lichfield Road, Essington Road, Bursnips Road, Warstone Road, Laney Green Interchange and Cannock Road.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing.
