What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
MELTONBY ROAD, MELTONBY
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Meltonby Road, Meltonby between the junctions of
The Mile and Miller Lane commencing 10 September
2025 at 08.00 hours to allow works for undertaking
test rod and rope and installation of subduct into the
existing fibre infrastructure.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by
10 September 2025 at 18.00 hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via The Mile, The Mile Roundabout,
Garths End, Yapham Road, Fangfoss Road, Feoffee Lane,
Main Street, Meltonby Lane, Meltonby Road and vice
versa. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles, residents
and pedestrians. Further information can be obtained
