Thorpe Le Street Road, Everingham - Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF
THORPE LE STREET ROAD, EVERINGHAM

East Riding of Yorkshire Council Sealed an Order on 29
April 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any
vehicle from proceeding along part of Thorpe Le Street
Road, Everingham from its junction with Blamire Lane
eastbound to Thorpe Le Street Road, Thorpe Le Street
commencing 9 June 2025 until 8 September 2025
for the purposes of demolition of an existing culvert
and installation of a new pre-cast concrete box culvert.
The applicant has informed East Riding of Yorkshire
Council that due to unforesceen circumstances the
works have been delayed and will now commence
1 September 2025 until 1 December 2025.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within 92 days. The
alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure
will be via Thorpe Le Street Road, A1079 York Road,
A614 Holme Road, A614 Shipton Lane, A614 Market
Weighton Road, Harswell Lane, Bull Lane, Southfield
Lane and Main Street, Pocklington CP, Hayton CP, Bielby
CP, Everingham CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward,
Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic without
exception due to the nature of the works.
