Cotswold - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C152 FOSSEWAY TO THE OLD MILL FOSSEBRIDGE

(COLN ST DENNIS PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C152 Fosseway to the Old Mill Fossebridge Road from outside the property known as ‘Hamblitt House’ to outside the property known as ‘Brook Cotts’ for a distance of approximately 251 metres.

The reason for the closure is for works to relocate a cable in the carriageway.

The said road is expected to be closed each day between 08:00hrs and 16:45hrs from 18th August 2025 until 20th August 2025 or until the works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF C190 (ERMIN WARD) (ELKSTONE PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below.

The reason for the said closure is for carriageway resurfacing works.

The said roads are expected to be closed and restricted, during various times, commencing on 1st September 2025 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the said closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures and restrictions taking effect. This Order may permit the said closures in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated the said works will be completed by 12th September 2025.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401022 THE GREEN (EASTLEACH PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401022 The Green Road from its junction with the road through Eastleach Turvill to its junction with Eastleach Turvill to Eastleach Road for a distance of approximately 32 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works to install a Pressure Point Aerial Post.

The reason for the closures and restrictions is for infrastructure installation works on behalf of Gigaclear.

The said roads are expected to be closed and restricted, during various times, on a rolling programme commencing 1st September 2025 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures and restrictions are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures and restrictions taking effect. This Order can permit the closure and restriction of the roads in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 10th October 2025.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY BSC 46 & UNCLASSIFIED HIGHWAY ROAD NUMBER 50929 (SOUTH CERNEY) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council has made an Order to temporarily close under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of the Public Bridleway and Unclassified Highway as detailed in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

Part of Public Bridleway BSC 46 extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 200 metres as indicated on the plan by a solid black line marked A to B.

Part of the Unclassified Highway Road Number 50929 (Road from the street to county boundary near Halstone House) from a point extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 200 metres as indicated on the plan by a solid black line marked C to D.

The closure is necessary to protect the public whilst conveyor installation works are being undertaken.

The Order will come into force on the 18th August 2025 and it is anticipated that the Public Bridleway and Unclassified Highway will close on that day until 30th September 2025. After this date if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.

The closure of the Public Bridleway and Unclassified Highway will be phased so that only one section will be closed at a time. Advance warning signs will be displayed onsite to show when each section is to be closed.

Alternative Route

Public Bridleway – Via the parallel unclassified highway as shown on the order plan and signed on site.

Unclassified Highway – No through road for vehicles. The alternative route for pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be via the parallel public bridleway shown on the order plan and signed on site.

Emergency Service access and pedestrian access to adjoining premises will be maintained.
