What is happening?

D5400 Hare Lane, Farncombe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D5400 Hare Lane, Farncombe. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works and/or major maintenance, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – D5415 Fern Road, D5415 Kings Road and A3100 Meadrow. 

Various in Elmbridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2025 

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway patching and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Schedule

1. that length of A3050 Hurst Road, West Molesey which extends from its junction with New Road to its junction with Buckingham Avenue. 

Alternative Route – A3050 Hurst Road, A305 River Bank, B3379 Bridge Road, B369 Walton Road and A3050 Hurst Road; 2. 
(a) the entire length of D3815 Access Road for 42 to 74 Terrace Road, Walton-on-Thames; and 
(b) that length of D3815 The Grove, Walton-on-Thames which extends from its junction with A3050 Terrace Road and a point 5m south of its junction with D3815 Access Road for 42 to 74 Terrace Road. There is no diversion route available for this road closure as it is anticipated that A3050 Terrace Road will be closed at the same time; 

3. the entire length of C161 St Leonards Road, Thames Ditton. Alternative Route – A307 Portsmouth Road, B364 Giggs Hill Road, B364 Watts Road and C160 High Street.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)&(2) Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 On 07 August 2025 

Surrey County Council made the abovementioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey) from grid ref: 501397 167647 to grid ref: 501824 167575. 

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of one month from 12 August 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required. The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected. 

There is no alternative route. 

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1)&(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Public Bridleway 152 (Shere) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)

On 7 August 2025 Surrey County Council made the above temporary closure order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the bridleway as it crosses the railway at Shere Heath Crossing. 

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the railway crossing being deemed dangerous to the public. The closure is in operation from 8 August 2025 for 6 months or until completion of the works, if earlier. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required. The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. 

The alternative route for traffic on foot from the northwestern end of the closure is to proceed in a north easterly direction along Bridleway 151, turn southeast and cross the bridge across the railway, then turn right and follow Bridleway 152 in a south westerly direction to the southeastern end of the closure. The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 152 (Shere) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
