Kings Road West, Temporary Road Closure For Bridge Repairs

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Kings Road West, Swanage

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Kings Road West, Swanage between Court Road and Church Hill (in both directions), a distance of approximately 230 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19 September 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council Bridge & Structures Team safe access to repair waterproofing and replace steel protection sheets on bridge.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
