Cumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2166 MOOR ROAD, GREAT CLIFTON, B5301 ARKLEBY AND U2300 BROOK STREET, FLIMBY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

  1. U2166 Moor Road, Great Clifton, from its junction with the Main Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 80m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2166 Moor Road, A595 and Main Road.

    Duration: From 1 September 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/15423)

  2. B5301 Arkleby, from a point approx. 60 metres north west of its junction with the U2081, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 220m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5301, A596 Aspatria, B5299 Fletchertown and A595 Bothel.

    Duration: From 4 September 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/15433)

  3. U2300 Brook Street, Flimby, from its junction with the A596, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Brook Street, Allanby Street, Chapel Street and the A596.

    Duration: From 15 September 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/15365)

    A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
