What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
Bobbing Hill, Bobbing, ME9 8TA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bobbing Hill, Bobbing from 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 28th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cold Harbour Lane, Rook Lane, Hill Farm View, A2 Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cooks Lane, Sittingbourne, ME10 2EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cooks Lane, Sittingbourne from 20:00 hours on 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 27th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of steel stockholders yard, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brewery Road, High Street, Crown Road, B2006 Staplehurst Road Roundabout, St Pauls Street, King Street, Mill Way, Cooks Lane and vice versa.
Faversham Hop Festival. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow the Faversham Hop Festival to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Faversham from 30th August 2025, for up to two days, between the hours of 08:00 and 19:00, or until the event is complete.
The following roads will be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 19:00 on both days, to the extents listed below. They will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.

Court Street – between the junctions with Crescent Road and Market Place.

East Street – between the junctions with Newton Road and Preston Street.

Market Place – in its entirety.
•
Market Street – in its entirety.
•
Middle Row – in its entirety.
•
Preston Street – between the junctions with East Street and Station Road/Forbes Road.
•
Stone Street – between the junctions with Preston Street and Union Street.
•
West Street – between the junctions with Market Place and North Lane.
•
Leslie Smith Drive – in its entirety.
•
Bank Street – in its entirety.
•
Partridge Lane – between the junctions with Court Street and Thomas Road.
High Street, Queenborough, ME11 5ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow sewer repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Queenborough, from 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd September 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 10, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Park Road, North Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Iwade Road, Newington, ME9 7FE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Iwade Road, Newington from 9th September 2025, with estimated completion by 11th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Church Lane and Oak Manor, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Boxted Lane, Breach Lane, Forge Lane, The Street, Sheerness Road, Basser Hill, Iwade Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lady Margaret Manor Road, Doddington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lady Margaret Manor Road, Doddington, from 29th August 2025, with estimated completion by 1st September 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Takarazuka, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lady Margaret Manor Road, Slade Road, Seed Road, Frangbury and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Old House Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7SR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old House Lane, Hartlip from 25th August 2025, with estimated completion by 28th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 1 to 24, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Hartlip Road, A2 London Road, Boyces Hill, Keycol Hill, Chestnut Hill, Maidstone Road, Wormdale Hill, Bull Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Otterden Road, Eastling, ME13 0BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Otterden Road, Eastling, from 8th September 2025, with estimated completion by 11th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Dunstall House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Otterden Road, The Street, Eastling Road, Stalisfield Road, Hart Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Hubbards Hill, Warren Street, Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pett Lane, Bredgar. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025
To allow overhead structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pett Lane, Bredgar, from 11th September 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Oad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oad Street, Sittingbourne Road, South Green, Pett Road, Pett Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Stonestile Lane, Selling. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stonestile Lane, Selling, from 29th August 2025, with estimated completion by 1st September 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Beeches Road and Selling Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stonestile Lane, Selling Road, New Cut Road, Stone Stile Road, Shottenden Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Hartlip, ME9 7TG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Hartlip, from 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 13th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Munns Lane and Mount Place/ Place Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Munns Lane, Lower Hartlip Road and Mount Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wildmarsh Road, Luddenham, ME13 0TE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wildmarsh Road, Luddenham, from 25th August 2025, with estimated completion by 29th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Elverton Lane and Luddenham Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Luddenham Hill, Bysing Wood Road, Lower Road, Elverton Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
