Consett, Amendment To Parking & Waiting Restrictions

(CONSETT)
(PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) CONSOLIDATION NO. 1 ORDER 2014 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The County Council of Durham intend to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 & 35 and Pt. IV of Sch. 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is To introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on:
a. on both sides of Palmerston Street, from its junction with Taylor Street, for a distance of 5 metres in a south-westerly direction
b. on the southwestern side of Taylor Street from its junction with Palmerston Street, for a distance of 4 metres in a north-westerly direction
c. on the southwestern side of Taylor Street from its junction with Palmerston Street, for a distance of 5 metres in a south-easterly direction
d. on the northeastern side of Taylor Street from its junction with Seymour Street, for a distance of 5 metres in a north-westerly direction
e. on the northeastern side of Taylor Street from its junction with Seymour Street, for a distance of 5 metres in a south-easterly direction
f. on both sides of Seymour Street from its junction with Taylor Street, for a distance of 5 metres in a north-easterly direction
g. on the northwestern side of Seymour Street from its junction with Seymour Street (Back), for a distance of 3 metres in a south-westerly direction
h. on the northwestern side of Seymour Street from its junction with Seymour Street (Back), for a distance of 2 metres in a north-easterly direction
i. on both sides of Seymour Street (Back) from its junction with Seymour Street, for a distance of 3 metres in a north-westerly direction
j. on the southeastern side of Seymour Street from its junction with West Parade (Back), for a distance of 3 metres in a south-westerly direction
k. on the southeastern side of Seymour Street from its junction with West Parade (Back), for a distance of 2 metres in a north-easterly direction
l. on both sides of West Parade (Back) from its junction with Seymour Street, for a distance of 3 metres in a south-westerly direction
m. on the southeastern side of Seymour Street from its junction with West Parade, for a distance of 5 metres in a north-easterly direction
n. on both sides of West Parade from its junction with Seymour Street, for a distance of 4 metres in a south-easterly direction.
To amend the existing ‘Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm, 1 hour no return 3 hours restrictions TO ‘Loading only, 8am-6pm’ restrictions: on the southeastern side of Queen Street from a point 7m southwest of its junction with Victoria Road, for a distance of 36 metres in a south-westerly direction.
To amend the existing ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ AND ‘No Waiting No Loading/Unloading At Any Time’ restrictions TO ‘Loading only, 8am-6pm’ restrictions: on the northeastern side of Middle Street from a point 22m southeast of its junction with Church Street, for a distance of 12 metres in a south-easterly direction.
To amend the existing ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions TO ‘No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading at any time’ restrictions on: on the northeastern side of Middle Street from a point 34m southeast of its junction with Church Street, for a distance of 6 metres in a south-easterly direction.
All other restrictions locally remain the same. A copy of the draft Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Consett Library during normal opening hours.
