What is happening?
ADVISORY NOTICE
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.29) ORDER 2024
Westmorland and Furness Council made an order to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works") which came into operation on 16th January 2025.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along those lengths of road specified within its schedule, but only in respect of Number 1; that section of the A593 Torver, from its junction with Old Rake, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 5.7 km.
The Works have been rescheduled and will be carried out under the provisions of the above stated Order on 19th August 2025, with the restriction expected to be in place for an approx. duration of 1 week, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
A suitable alternative route will be signed and made available via the unrestricted sections of A593, A595, A5092 and A5084. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
