What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, CT16 3AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 11th September 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Alkham Road, Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, B2011 Dover Hill, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road and London Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via London Road, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A25 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Avenue, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Valley Road and Alkham Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, CT15 6DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 72m from the junction of St Margarets Road to the entrance of the site, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bay Hill, Hotel Road, Granville Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, CT13 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, on or after 28th August 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Drainless Road to outside Beech Cott, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beacon Lane, Foxborough Hill, Drainless Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Duke Street & Nelson Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Duke Street & Nelson Street, Deal, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
Duke Street will be closed at the junction of Nelson Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Water Street, Princes Street, Ark Lane, Western Road, West Street and Duke Street.
Nelson Street will be closed at the junction of Duke Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Duke Street, Robert Street, Princes Street, Ark Lane, Western Road and West Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ellens Road, Deal, CT14 9JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellens Road, Deal, on or after 9th September 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Ripple View, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellens Road, Mongeham Road, St Richards Road, Cross Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Kingsdown Road, Walmer, CT14 7LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kingsdown Road, Walmer, on or after 28th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 52, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kingsdown Road, Granville Road, Liverpool Road, Clarence Road, The Beach and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Moat Lane, Ash (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Moat Lane, Ash, on or after 26th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Jasmine Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, New Street, Coombe Lane, Moat Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Northwall Road, Deal, CT14 6PW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northwall Road, Deal, on or after 28th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 71, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Palm Tree Lane, Aylesham, CT3 3HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Palm Tree Lane, Aylesham, on or after 27th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1 Listways Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Palm Tree Lane, Old Court Hill, Vicarage Lane, Church Street, Chapmans Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rowling Road, Goodnestone, CT3 1PU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rowling Road, Goodnestone, on or after 29th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside 8 Lower Rowling Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rowling Road, Sandwich Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Peters Street, Sandwich, CT13 9BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Peters Street, Sandwich, on or after 27th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 10, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Lane, Guston, CT15 5ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow solar works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Lane, Guston, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 365 days or until the works have been completed.
The closure will be imposed 24/7 from 8th September 2025, with estimated completion by 20th November 2025. The road will then be closed when it is indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The Lane will be closed from outside Meadow Croft to outside Cherry Tree Cottage.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Lane, Dover Road, A258 Castle Hill Road, A258 Deal Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wingleton Lane, Ripple (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingleton Lane, Ripple, on or after 28th August 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the track leading to Ripple Court Cottages for approximately 15m in a Westerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wingleton Lane, Pommeus Lane, Chapel Lane, Crooked S Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
