TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
The Order will have the effect of reducing the speed limit along the length of road specified in The Schedule from 60mph to 30mph.
Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the affected roads and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders).
If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to Network and Traffic Team Leader, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Dunedin House, Columbia Drive, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 6BJ or HTD@Stockton.gov.uk by 11th September 2025.

Durham Road, Thorpe Thewles - from its junction with Astral Drive, head in a northerly direction for approximately 70m.
