What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE SOUTH LAKELAND LOCALITY, WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.11) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3306 or via the Westmorland and Furness Council website. The references to quote are detailed in the schedule. The Order will come into operation on 19th August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for those dates as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

1. Buckbank Lane, Sedbergh - From 19th August 2025 for Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15215)

From a point approx. 840 metres north east of its junction with A683, extending in a north direction for a distance of approx. 350 metres. There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.

2. Jack Hill, Allithwaite - From 27th August 2025 for Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15256)

From its junction with Blenketside, extending in a predominantly westerly direction for a distance of approx. 270 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Jack Hill, Holme Lane and Church Road (B5277).

3. C5041, Cartmel - From 1 st September 2025 for Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15273)

From its junction with Priest Lane, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with Aynsome Lane. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5041, C5029, C5053, A590, B5271, C5046, B5277 and the B5278.

4. U5064 Corker Lane, Force Forge - From 17th September 2025 for Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15527)

From its junction with the C5022, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 1.3 km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Corker Lane, U5563 and the C5022.

5. B6446 Kendal Road, Kirkby Lonsdale - From 27th October

2025 for Approx. duration 1 days (Ref: TTROW/15318) From its junction with Harling Bank, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 180 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Kendal Road (B6446), New Road, Dodgson Croft and the A65.
