Avenbury, Herefordshire - Temporary Road Closure due to Bridge Remedial Works

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1135 From River Frome To C1136, Avenbury, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1135 From River Frome To C1136, Avenbury, 50 metres eitherside of Hyde bridge. Grid Ref: 367207/251792. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the C1135 onto the C1136, onto the B4220, onto the A44, onto the C1135 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to bridge remedial works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 8th of September 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 8 weeks.
