If there is any existing parking bay at the locations specified, this will be removed to accommodate the new electric vehicle charging points. Objections or other comments may be made to the measures being continued on a permanent basis – see paragraph 3].

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, in exercise of the powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, propose to make the above Order, the effect of which will be to implement Electric Vehicle (EV) charging parking bays and revoke any existing underlying waiting, loading, or parking place restrictions in: -

(14) Yoxley Approach IG6, the north side, introduce 2 EV bays outside the flank wall of No.2 Yoxley Drive.

2. The Order is necessary to provide electric vehicle charge points to meet demand and aid the transition to electric vehicles. Electric vehicles contribute to improvements in air quality, specifically nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and so the Council wishes to encourage their use. The current lack of charging facilities is a barrier for people wishing to buy electric vehicles and so by providing more charging bays, the aim is to remove that barrier and give potential users more confidence that they will be able to access charging facilities when necessary.

3. A copy of the Order may be examined along with map-based plans at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY between 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Any objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made on engage.redbridge.gov.uk/accessible-ev-charge-point-trial
