Cheshire West and Chester, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS

(CHESTER ROAD, SYCAMORE DRIVE & DUNKIRK LANE, ELLESMERE PORT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Chester Road – west side – from a point 15 metres south of its junction with Sycamore Drive to a point 15 metres north of its junction with Sycamore Drive.

  • Chester Road – east side – from a point 15 metres south of its junction with Dunkirk Lane to a point 15 metres north of its junction with Dunkirk Lane.

  • Sycamore Drive – both sides – from its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction.

  • Dunkirk Lane – both sides – from its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction.

(MANSFIELD ROAD, CHESTER ROAD AND FERN ROAD, ELLESMERE PORT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Mansfield Road – both sides – from its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 16 metres in a westerly direction.

  • Chester Road – both sides – from a point 15 metres south of the junction centreline with Mansfield Road to a point 15 metres north of the junction centreline with Mansfield Road.

  • Fern Road – both sides – from its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction.

(FOREST DRIVE AND WARREN ROAD, ELLESMERE PORT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Forest Road – both sides – from a point 18 metres southeast of its junction with Warren Drive to a point 19 metres west of its junction with Warren Drive.

  • Warren Drive – both sides – from its junction with Forest Road for a distance of 18 metres in a north-westerly direction.

(MEADOWBANK DRIVE, LITTLE SUTTON, ELLESMERE PORT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Meadowbank Road from Berwick Road main access road – north-east side – from a point 25 metres northwest of the northern kerbline of Berwick Road for a distance of 20 metres.

  • Meadowbank Road access road to properties 2 to 22 – both sides for a distance of 7m in a north easterly direction to tie in with carriageway concrete demarcation line.

(QUARRY ROAD, HINDERTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Quarry Road – both sides – from its junction with the A540 Chester High Road for a distance of 91 metres in a north-easterly direction.

(RANDLE MEADOW, ELLESMERE PORT) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:

  • Randle Meadow – North Side – From a point 15 metres west of its junction with Whitebeam Avenue to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Whitebeam Avenue.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks from the 7th August 2025 make application to the High Court for this purpose.

**ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

TR08390 – Heath Lane in Barrow**

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Barrow to enable commissioning and service installations. Works to be carried out by Severn Trent.

  • Heath Lane: From the Junction with Hollowmore Heath to the Junction with Village Road.

Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works or repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.

The Order will come into force on 01/09/2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 5 weeks to complete.

Alternative routes for through traffic:

Traffic should proceed via:

Heath Lane, Barrow Lane, Holme Street, Chester Road, Barrow Road, A54, By Pass Road, Barrow Lane, Barrow Lane.

Go southeast on Barnhouse Lane toward Heath Lane (1.77 metres)

Turn left on Heath Lane (558.49 metres)

Turn left on Hollowmoor Heath (4.87 metres)

Make a U-turn and go back on Hollowmoor Heath (4.87 metres)

Make a sharp left on Heath Lane (795.9 metres)

Continue forward on Barrow Lane (1037.26 metres)

Turn left on Tofall Lane to stay on Barrow Lane (518.80 metres)

Make a sharp right on A54 (Chester Road) (1678.63 metres)

**TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

TR08391 – Hollowmoor Heath in Barrow**
