TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 - SECTION 247

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO STOP UP A SECTION OF HIGHWAY

AT CHESTNUT WALK, WOODFORD GREEN IG8 0SR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (the "Act") to authorise the stopping up of the area of public highway described in the First Schedule to this Notice.

If the Order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only to enable the development described in the Second Schedule to be carried out in accordance with planning permission Ref: 0836/24.

A copy of the draft Order and the associated Plan No. 2025/S247/002 may be inspected free of charge by any person between 14 August 2025 and 11 September 2025 at the following locations:

(a) The Information Centre, Lynton House, 225–259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:45 AM – 4:30 PM and Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Excluding bank and public holidays)

(b) Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1EA; Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM and Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

(c) Woodford Green Library, Snakes Ln W, Woodford, Woodford Green IG8 0DX: Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM and Saturday: 08:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Any person may object to the proposed Order by submitting their reasons in writing to the address below no later than 17:00 on Thursday, 11 September 2025:

FIRST SCHEDULE – DESCRIPTION OF HIGHWAY TO BE STOPPED UP

The area of public highway known as Chestnut Walk, adjacent to the development at Woodford Police Station, 509 High Road, Woodford Green, IG8 0SR, measuring approximately 8.9 metres in length and up to 2.6 metres in width, as shown hatched on Plan No. 2025/S247/002.

SECOND SCHEDULE – DEVELOPMENT DETAILS

Planning Application References: 0836/24.

Location: Chestnut Walk, adjacent to the development at Woodford Police Station, 509 High Road, Woodford Green, IG8 0SR.

Proposed Development: Partial demolition and conversion of the existing building to provide 22 flats and 9 terraced houses (comprising 9 x 3-bedroom, 8 x 2-bedroom, and 14 x 1-bedroom units), with associated waste/refuse facilities, car parking, cycle storage, landscaping and ancillary works.
