The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, in exercise of the powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, propose to make the above Order, the effect of which will be to implement Electric Vehicle (EV) charging parking bays and revoke any existing underlying waiting, loading, or parking place restrictions in:
-
Brading Crescent E11, the south side, introduce 4 EV bays opposite Nos. 2 to 24 Brading Crescent.
-
Carnarvon Road E18, the west side, introduce 4 EV bays outside No 106 Carnarvon Road and the flank wall of No. 52 Chelmsford Road.
-
Cavendish Avenue IG8, introduce 4 EV bays outside the flank wall of No. 78 Beverley Crescent.
-
Harold Road IG8, the west side, introduce 4 EV bays outside the flank wall of No. 12 Darnley Road.
-
Mansfield Road E11, the east side, introduce 4 EV bays outside the flank wall of No. 16 Redbridge Lane West.
-
Rutland Road E11, the south–east side, introduce 4 EV bays outside the flank wall of No. 3 Leicester Road.
-
Snakes Lane West IG8, the south side, introduce 4 EV bays opposite Nos. 31 to 39 Croft Lodge Close.
-
The Order is necessary to provide electric vehicle charge points to meet demand and aid the transition to electric vehicles. Electric vehicles contribute to improvements in air quality, specifically nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and so the Council wishes to encourage their use. The current lack of charging facilities is a barrier for people wishing to buy electric vehicles and so by providing more charging bays, the aim is to remove that barrier and give potential users more confidence that they will be able to access charging facilities when necessary.
-
A copy of the Order may be examined along with map-based plans at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY between 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
