What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
Grove Road, Wickhambreaux, CT3 4BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Grove Road, Wickhambreaux from 10th September 2025, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Grove Ferry Road and Wickham Court Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Hearts Delight Lane, Preston Hill, A257 High Street, Canterbury Road, Wingham Road, High Street, Nargate Street, Wickham Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Manns Hill, Bossingham, CT4 6ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Manns Hill, Bossingham, from 28th August 2025, with estimated completion by 29th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Farncombe and Coombe House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manns Hill, The Street, Bossingham Road, Fryarne Park, Pett Bottom Road, Manns Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Meadow Road, Sturry, CT2 0JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025
To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Meadow Road, Sturry, from 9th September 2025, with estimated completion by 12th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Sleigh Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sleigh Road, Cedar Road, Meadow Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Old Bridge Road, Whitstable, CT5 1QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old Bridge Road, Whitstable, from 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 28th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 51, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old Bridge Road, Millstrood Road, A2990 Thanet Way, Church Street, Castle Road, The Bridge Approach and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Radfall Road, Chestfield, CT5 3ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Radfall Road, Chestfield, from 26th August 2025, with estimated completion by 29th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed adjacent to Mill Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chestfield Road, A2990 Thanet Way, A290 Clapham Hill, Pean Hill, Honey Hill, Blean Common, Blean Hill, Tile Kiln Hill, Whitstable Road, St Thomas Hill, Forty Acres Road, Beaconsfield Road, St Stephen’s Hill, Canterbury Hill, Wood Hill, Hackington Road, Radfall Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
School Lane, Herne, CT6 7HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Herne from 30th August 2025, with estimated completion by 31st August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic northeast bound is via A291 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, Margate Road Interchange, Margate Road, Hunters Forstal Road, Mill Lane and School Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic southwest bound is via School Lane, Mill Lane, A299 Thanet Way and A291 Canterbury Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Wickhambreaux, CT3 1RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Wickhambreaux, from 29th August 2025, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Bell House and number 1 School Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Wickham Road, Drill Lane, Wingham Lane, Baye Lane, Seaton Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Woodlands Road, Adisham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Woodlands Road, Adisham, from 28th August 2025, with estimated completion by 29th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between New Woodlands Farm and The Grainstore, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodlands Road, The Street, Pond Hill, Adisham Downs Road, Bramling Road, Poor Start Lane, Woodlands Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
